The ZOOlogy 2025 conference, organized by the Koninklijke Nederlandse Dierkundige Vereniging (KNDV), offers a tiered pricing structure to accommodate various participant categories. Early registration is encouraged to benefit from reduced rates.
An optional social dinner will be held aboard the Pannenkoekenboot, see Venues. The cost for this event is €50 per person.
The entrance to ARTIS Zoo for the 3 days of the conference is included in the ticket price.
KNDV members enjoy discounted registration fees. Annual membership is €30. Students (BSc/MSc) and PhD candidates are eligible for an introductory membership at €20 per year. Becoming a member not only provides financial benefits but also connects you to a network of professionals in the field of zoology.
Additional benefits for members include:
- Zoology Prize: An annual award recognizing outstanding integrative zoological research conducted primarily in or from the Netherlands. The prize includes a certificate and a monetary award. For more information, visit the Zoology Prize page.
- Travel Grants: The KNDV offers seven travel grants annually, each worth €400, to support master’s students in zoology attending international conferences or undertaking work visits abroad. Applicants must be KNDV members. Details can be found on the Travel Grants page.
- Special issue in the Journal Animal Biology: Members of the KNDV have the great opportunity to create their own special issue in the journal Animal Biology (Open acces for all researchers at Dutch universities).
Book of conference abstracts and Animal Biology special issue
We are pleased to announce that Zoology 2025 has partnered with Animal Biology and IBED to publish a book of conference abstracts with ISBN number (free of charge for participants) and a special issue comprising seven to ten research papers, due to be released at the end of 2026. Are you a KNDV or RBZS member interested in publishing your research in this special issue? If so, please let us know when registering. We will contact you after the conference to discuss next steps. If there are more people willing to publish than there are papers available, we may have to decline some submissions. Furthermore, these submissions will undergo rigorous peer review, so we cannot guarantee publication if the scientific requirements are not met at this stage. Please note that papers by researchers from Dutch universities are published open access free of charge!
